Overall, I enjoyed my stay at the hotel. It's very modern, stylish and clean. The staff was very helpful and friendly.

Beautiful new hotel. Should, however, wait for the 11 a.m. check out before knocking on the door and waking people up when they are on vacation.

When I saw that this was at a casino, I cringed. I also did not mean to end up so far from downtown Vancouver. However it turned out to be just right. The lobby and building have a surprisingly elegant and calm demeanor- not what I expect of casino. The staff was exceptionally welcoming and helpful. In my first room, I noticed a dim buzzing sound, which probably wouldn't bother most people. I found it just mildly annoying, and I mentioned it when the staff asked me how I liked room. Without hesitation, they switched me to another room in building and dispatched maintenance to look into what was making sound and how it could be remedied for future guests. Staff at front desk answered several questions that were helpful in my conduct of business the next day. When I asked if there was anyplace nearby that would be a bit more relaxed, where I could review documents and have a glass of wine (assuming that the upstairs was a busy casino), I was directed to an upstairs lounge/restaurant that is separate from casino. The bartender there welcomed me, recommended a local wine and shared information about vintage. The only thing I didn't love about the lounge was the music mix, which was all over the map. It seemed like a place that should have a nice, down tempo mix to go along with lighting and design. Rather, the mix ranged from reggae-style Muzak to contemporary R&B to Queen's Fat Bottomed Girls. The room itself was spotlessly clean and well made. It was attractive and inviting, nothing exceptional, but exceeding the expectation I had for a room in a conference center/casino. There was only one window, which looked out on crossroads of freeways. There was a little noise from freeway, not too bad. The air conditioner was also a bit noisy, but I turned it off and was okay. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Rooms were clean. location was great. Close to down town Vancouver and Metrotown for shopping. Casino did it's job like most casinos...Lost a bit of money. Over all, a relaxing time there. ...read more
